Our Mission

Mission Statement

OLGCA provides a nurturing, Catholic, academic, safe environment where students are encouraged and challenged to develop and grow spiritually, intellectually, morally and socially. Students and their families are welcomed into the Our Lady of Grace family with compassion and love, and as a family, we nurture, support and celebrate each other.

Our principal objective is to educate the students to meet the intellectual, spiritual, social, physical and cultural challenges of living in the global community as exemplary Christians.

More About Our Academy

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy, founded in 1951 as Our Lady of Grace School, transformed into an academy in 2015.

We serve the children of Gravesend and the surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Coney Island, Bath Beach, Brighton Beach, Seagate, Manhattan Beach and Homestead.

In addition to living up to our “family tradition,” our students participate in many community service activities and coordinate and sponsor fundraisers to help the less fortunate and various community and charitable civic organizations.

We have an active Home Academy Association (HAA). This group comprises enthusiastic, motivated parent/guardian volunteers who give selflessly of their time and talents to raise an impressive amount of money needed to help keep costs down and to make necessary capital improvements in the school.

We strive to create a Catholic community among administration, faculty, staff, students and parishioners. It is the aim of the faculty to provide the proper environment for the students to obtain a measure of academic success. Education consists of developing intelligence, acquiring knowledge and forming character.

We assist the students in their development, both academically and individually, in a complex society.

Fairness, cooperation, unity, and innovation help to facilitate a strong spirit amongst the students.

Students are encouraged to speak with the teachers to develop a relationship built on trust and understanding.

We acknowledge that Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Academy cannot be successful without first understanding the importance of each individual. We are all God’s children working together harmoniously for the benefit of our school, our broader community and ultimately for all humanity.
