Curriculum

Students in our lower primary grades benefit from a self-contained nurturing environment. A positive self-image is encouraged and the students are given a sense of belonging in a disciplined and structured environment. Learning becomes a rich, enjoyable and rewarding experience where students learn by using concrete and hands-on activities.

Small classes ensure individualized, differentiated instruction. Every student is equipped with an Ipad or chromebook to maximize their learning experience. All classrooms have interactive smart boards. A reading curriculum accommodates the needs of each learner and strengthens reading independence. The Mathematics curriculum adheres to the Next Generation Math Standards and incorporates the use of manipulatives and cooperative learning experiences to help reinforce basic problem solving-skills and challenge the students to develop higher-level thinking skills. Daily prayers and religious instruction is built into the school day.

Students in grades K-3 attend mass, as a class, approximately twice each month and attend liturgical events. Sacramental preparation is embedded in the 2nd grade Religion curriculum for students making First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
